In Knots
A while ago I was getting suited out for a formal dinner. This is a pretty rare event for me. If you so desired, here in Oxford you could wear a suit and gown to lunch every day of the week, but I fit much more on the far end of that spectrum. Indeed, twenty minutes before the soup course I was still struggling folornly with my tie. Now, I don't know what the following means. Perhaps it's a sign of the way the modern world is interconnected and afloat on a sea of information. Behaps it's a chilly reminder of the dehumanisation that lurks in the shadows of electronic convenience. But I have to admit that after a few attempts, and fearing that the end result would be my lifeless body twisting beneath a light fixture with "death by misadventure" on my record, I was growing desperate to find the right way to tie this god-damned piece of medieval apparel. And so I googled it.
Maybe it's just saying I'm a nerd. A real big nerd.
