Satan's little toolshed

According to the collective cultural unconscious, Stairway to Heaven,when played backwards, contains satanic messages. Today I've managed to actually hear it, and I have to say it's not all that striking. When I think of this myth, it occurs to me that it took off not because the "message" is apparent, but because it fits in with what it's critics want rock'n'roll to be. When the phenomes are that garbled, it can say whatever you want it to.

Not the Britney Spears one though. That's crystal clear. And worrying.
